Dulles Electric Supply has been named the Showroom of the Year in the under $5 Million Revenue category of the 2014 Showroom of the Year Awards, sponsored by Residential Lighting Magazine and Dallas Market Center. Dulles Electric Supply was presented with the award at the annual event, held this year on June 18 at the Dallas International Lighting Market.
One Showroom of the Year award was given to winners in three dollar-volume categories, including: annual revenue under $2 million, annual revenue under $5 million, and annual revenue $5 million and above. There were 10 finalists in each category.
“This was especially thrilling for everyone here at Dulles Electric Supply, as we’ve spent the past two years as a finalist in our category. We’re so honored to finally be recognized as the showroom of the year after all of our hard work,” stated Sharina Mendoza, Director of Marketing of Dulles Electric Supply.
A panel of three industry-leading judges hand-picked the winners from each category.
The judges’ comments regarding Dulles Electric Supply included, "There is warmth that shines in your employees that carries throughout the store. It ‘feels’ good. There’s an elegance in some areas that works perfectly with the merchandise on display."
Dulles Electric Supply has worked hard since its inception in 1985 to maintain this warm and elegant atmosphere. At 12,000 square feet, it's the Mid-Atlantic’s largest lighting showroom. It has the nation’s largest Schonbek crystal gallery, is the exclusive Swarovski lighting dealer in the greater D.C. area, and also has the D.C. region’s only Visual Comfort gallery. The showroom also features a state-of-the-art experience center featuring a whole-house dimming system and other lighting applications. Staff members are ALA-trained Lighting Specialists and the three in-house lighting designers each have more than 15 years of experience under their belts.
Dulles launched a new website in September 2013 that enables customers to shop online and view inventory, which has created a 44 percent increase in traffic.
